Birdhouse

‘The Nest’ is a design concept for a birdhouse that offers protection for nesting birds but also builds on their pre-existing knowledge as ‘nest-building experts’. The birdhouse is constructed out of a standard PVC pipe with multiple holes at the bottom section into which the ‘starter-kit’ for the nest construction is inserted. This ‘starter-kit’ consists of multiple wooden dowels which are secured in place with rubber bands that are attached at each end of a dowel. Since the rubber bands can be easily detached, it is also possible to remove the dowels for cleaning purposes.
