The design concept for the ‚School of Design‘ is based on the idea to create mascots that represent what psychology is focusing on: the study of mind and behaviour. The design uses different icons that show brains with arms and legs. Those icons represent the different areas of application e.g. health, addiction prevention, or sport. The icons can be used as a pattern on the different marketing materials, or as single icons e.g. on the pen and USB stick where space is limited.

Best Worscht in Town

Crime scene “Wurstbude” advertises the most famous product of “Best Worscht in Town”: The Currywurst (Sausage with a spicy sauce). The well-known shop sells a special sauce once a month and you can just buy it then.   Crime scene “Wurstbude” shows the shop the way a sausage would see it, as an extremely brutal place where the sausage gets cut into pieces or to say it in a simple way: murdered. The curry style of the month murders the sausage in an a cruel way. The death of the sausage is illustrated each month in a different way, to put a focus on the new curry style. These illustrations are printed on the poster in the shop but they are at the same time the flyer for the costumer that he can take back home. On the flyer is a crime story that describes the death of the sausage. When the Flyer is turned around the customer can see a pattern that he can cut out and then build his own little sausage by following the instructions on the back.

The idea behind the book was the question whether you can guess someones course of study just by the clothes he or she wears. For the project we photographed 270 students, 55 per course, from four different courses: design, mechanical engineering, business studies and social sciences. The students were asked to take part in the project while going to their courses. They all got photographed in front of a white wall to make the photos look the same. Then we compared the different photos to find differences and similarities among the different students. For the results we made infographics to illustrate what defines each course. For example what kind of shoes most students wear, whether this are normal sneaker or more classic leather shoes. Each chapter starts with a cliché like “designer just wear chucks” the the following pages show our results of the analysis and each chapter closes with an answer to the cliché where you can see whether it is now true or not that all designer wear chucks. Shanks

The soap named “shanks” is a fictitious project done by prison inmates. The soap is handmade and shows the name of the project on the front. The name is embossed on front of the brochure and the packaging of the soap. The brochure shows scenes of prison cells and informs the reader with short text about the project and the life of the inmates.
